Ben Keating is primed for his return to the FIA World Endurance Championship at the upcoming Circuit of the Americas round, in the #88 Proton Competition Ford Mustang LMGT3.

The talented FIA Bronze-graded driver will make his WEC comeback at the sixth round on 1 September, the Lone Star Le Mans, at the wheel of the #88 Proton Competition Ford Mustang.

In 2023, he was part of the Corvette Racing crew who took the last team and drivers’ championship titles to conclude the famous LMGTE era before LMGT3 begun from this year. He also took the second of his two Le Mans victories during the campaign.

The 2022 and 2023 GTE-Am champion will replace Bronze driver Giorgio Roda in the #88 Ford, as Christian Reid did so to mark his own one-off comeback at the previous race in Sao Paulo.

Besides the Texan’s return, the provisional entry list for the six-hour event at the Texas venue showcases the return of Harry Tincknell to Proton Competition’s #99 Porsche 963 Hypercar driver lineup after being occupied with the clashing IMSA events previously.

Keating’s first outing in the new LMGT3 era, which has adopted the widely-known GT3 formula of machinery, will be done so in one of the newest cars.

At its Le Mans 24 Hours debut in June, the #88 Ford achieved a podium finish ahead of the fourth-placed #44 LMGT3 entrant.

Keating will join teammates Mikkel Pedersen and Dennis Olsen at his home race as they will attempt to stand out in the competitive 18-car category which features nine manufacturers.
