Ducati has chosen Marco Rigamonti to work as Marc Marquez’s crew chief ahead of his move to the factory team for the 2025 MotoGP season, according to reports.

Rigamonti works with current Ducati rider Enea Bastianini, but he has also been with Andrea Iannone at Suzuki from 2017 to 18 and Johann Zarco whilst with Pramac.

Furthermore, Marquez also divulged that Javi Ortiz will move over with him to Ducati. Ortiz has been integral to his success since the Spaniard was riding with Honda.

Two current Gresini Racing staff members will follow him to the factory Ducati this year, one of whom is reported to be Mattia Sereni, his current electronics engineer.

However, Gresini’s Frankie Carchedi is reported to be contracted to the Italian outfit and will not be cooperating with the eight-time champion again from next season.

“The people in charge at Ducati will be the first to place the people they consider to be the most suitable for me, in order to ensure that my performance is the best possible,” he said.

Rumours state Ducati will not look to bring in Honda’s Santi Hernandez, who worked with Marquez as the pair achieved extensive success with seven titles together.
