Proton Competition will repeat their 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps lineup when they fielded solely Neel Jani and Julien Andlauer with Harry Tincknell competing in IMSA during the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo.

Proton Competition will enter their #99 Porsche 963 for the fifth round of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship without the presence of Harry Tincknell.

The Briton will be racing for Ford Multimatic in their GTD Pro commitments at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park round.

The next stop on the WEC will be the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo on 14 July, which is taking place at same time as the IMSA event.

It will mark the WEC’s return to Brazil since 2014 when the Interlagos venue made a three-year appearance on the calendar, whilst IMSA will host LMP2s, GTD and GTD Pro cars for the Chevrolet Grand Prix, a 2-hour and 40-minute sprint race.

Proton and Cadillac – the latter’s Sebastien Bourdais competing in IMSA too – will be the sole teams running a two-driver lineup as part of a confirmed 37 entries across the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes.

Two drivers in the list will run their home race including the likes of Nicolas Costa of the #59 United Autosports McLaren 720S LMGT3 EVO and Augusto Farfus in the #31 WRT BMW M4 LMGT3.

As already covered on Motorsport Week, Clemens Schmid will replace Timur Boguslavskiy for the remainder of the season as the Akkodis ASP regular officially departs the team.

After the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where they offer double-points in the WEC, both Manthey teams draw on 75 points in the LMGT3 Teams’ Standings after the #91 crew gained the full 50 points for winning Le Mans as the #92 only scored two.

In the Hypercar category, the fight for the World Championship sees the #6 Porsche Penske 963 crew of Kevin Estre, Andre Lotterer, and Laurens Vanthoor on 99 points though the Le Mans-winning #50 Ferrari 499P lineup of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen are only nine points behind.
