The Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course hosted IndyCar for the annual round before the Indy 500, and it was Alex Palou that dominated the afternoon.

As he has one many times before, the reigning champion hung out near the front until he could leapfrog Christian Lundgaard for the lead during pit stops. From then on, he was unstoppable.

Will Power crossed the line in second, continuing his winless streak that started nearly two years ago. Lundgaard hung onto third to give RLL a podium.

There was only one caution, and the varying pit strategies never really played out because everyone had to make three stops to get through the required 85 laps.

The next task on hand for the entire paddock is the Indianapolis 500. Practice for the famous event starts on Tuesday, and the race itself takes place in two weeks on May 26.
