Alpine Junior Driver Abbi Pulling set two of the fastest times on the grid, securing both pole positions for Race 1 and Race 2 at the Miami International Autodrome.

Pulling was consistently on top of the grid, securing an early provisional pole ahead of the Iron Dame Doriane Pin before greatly improving her time throughout the session to 1:58.507s.

F1 Academy Qualifying uses the drivers’ two fastest times to set the grid order for both races, with their fastest time setting their Race 1 position and their second fastest lap setting the grid for Race 2.

The Championship leader was the first to set the fastest time before the Mercedes and Ferrari-nominated drivers began trading blows.

Maya Weug was the first to break the two-minute mark with 11:59.555s 10 minutes into the session as Pulling abandoned a flying lap to enter the pits.

Pin was dropped to third after setting the second-fastest time early in the session, attempting to steal the provisional pole from the Alpine Junior Driver.

Williams Academy Driver Lia Block suffered a lockup on one of her early flying laps before heading into the pits.

After a majority of the grid went into the pits before the halfway mark of the session, the Charlotte Tilbury-nominated driver Lola Lovinfosse enjoyed two flying laps on an empty track.

The Puma car followed Lovinfosse with the youngest driver on the grid Aurelia Nobels weaved around the track in the blistering Miami heat.

Bianca Bustamante (PHL) ART. 03.05.2024. FIA Formula Academy, Rd 2, Miami, Florida, USA, Friday.

Setting purple sectors on her return to the track, Pulling placed her Rodin Motorsport car ahead of the Ferrari driver with 1:59.278s.

With a provisional pole in sight for both Races, Pulling improved on her early times with just 10 minutes left in the session by setting consecutive fastest laps to secure her position.

Struggling with set-up issues throughout the weekend, Pin dropped to seventh in the final eight minutes as McLaren Development Driver Bianca Bustamante took the second spot two-tenths off Pulling.

The top 12 drivers were separated by just two seconds in the final six minutes as the track temperature began to pick up.

Bustamante momentarily set the fastest time ahead of the Alpine Junior until she snatched it back with four-tenths to spare.

Emirati driver Amna Al Qubaisi found herself in the front row behind Pulling before the Iron Dame stole the second-fastest time, improving on her pace.

Pulling remained in the provisional pole position in the final four minutes, setting a 1:58.507, five-tenths ahead of the Frenchwoman in second.

After a speedy lap, Al Qubaisi remained third ahead of the Bustamante in fourth, followed by the Ferrari Academy Driver in fifth.

Nerea Marti secured a sixth-placed start while Nobels found herself in eight above the Aston Martin-nominated driver Tina Haussman.

Haas-nominated driver Chloe Chambers finished in seventh on home soil, while the young rally driver Block managed a twelfth-placed position also at her home race.

Rounding out the top 10, the Charlotte Tilbury driver secured the 10th spot while the Wildcard Entrant Courtney Crone fell nearly two seconds behind the pole-sitter in 16th.
