The NTT IndyCar Series hosted a special exhibition round this weekend from the Thermal Club, with heat races leading to a final race that determined who would walk away with a boatload of bonus money.

There were two heat races that took place early in the day, with Alex Palou and Felix Rosenqvist both converting their pole positions into heat race wins. That earned the two men positions on the front row for the feature event.

The main race started off exceedingly slow as drivers went to extreme measures to conserve their tires, but the final laps picked up the pace and led to some tight battles for position.

Alex Palou could not be caught, however, and he walked away with the $500,000 prize. Scott McLaughlin and Felix Rosenqvist each earned a podium and a sizeable sum of their own.

There is a rather large gap on the calendar before the next points paying race in Long Beach, with plenty of testing scheduled over the next few weeks to pass the time.
