Swiss driver Joshua Dufek is PHM AIX Racing’s first confirmed driver for the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship, stepping up to the series after a split campaign in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) and the Euroformula Open Championship.

In 2023, Dufek ended up 13th in the FRECA Drivers’ standings despite leaving halfway through the campaign to go on and claim seven podiums and one race victory in Euroformula en route to seventh in the final standings.

19 years of age, Dufek’s single-seater journey began in 2020 in Spanish Formula 4, finishing fourth overall before competing in ADAC Formula 4 and Italian F4 in 2021, finishing seventh in both championships before graduating to FRECA in 2022, grabbing three podium results.

Dufek’s FIA F3 acclimatisation began with a single-round outing in the 2023 season finale in Italy with Campos Racing and he took part in the post-season testing with PHM AIX Racing at Barcelona, Jerez and Imola.

“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be teaming up with PHM once again to make my debut in FIA F3,” Dufek said.

“It’s an exciting opportunity and I can’t wait to hit the track and show what I can do.

“The official tests at the end of last year really helped us in setting a solid baseline and I hope to build on that to make this season together a memorable one!”

PHM AIX Sporting Director Roland Rehfeld added: “Servus Joshua. We are very glad to welcome Joshua back in our team.

“We have been following Joshua for a long time now.

“Joshua is part of our closer circle of drivers, since he has already driven for us in the FRMEC 2023.

“He has had a challenging 2023 at the beginning, but showed his real speed and abilities in various classes before and in our post-season testing.

“Joshua is part of our very strong driver line up and encourages the whole Team with his positive attitude and teamwork.

“We are convinced to be on a very competitive level this season.”
