Ahead of Formula E season 10, Jaguar TCS Racing have officially moved into their new technical headquarters, situated in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.

The British manufacturer has opted to relocate to the new Fortescue WAE facility, which only recently opened. From their new technical HQ, the season 10 favourites will design, develop and manufacture the powertrains used by Jaguar and their customer outfit, Envision Racing. Envision, of course, are the reigning Teams’ Champions.

Jaguar moving their technical operations to the new Fortescue WAE facility is a very positive move for the side, as the building has a powertrain build lab. This is where the outfit season nine Vice-Champions will build their inverters and MGUs.

The facility also has a state-of-the-art workshop, where the Jaguar I-TYPE 6s will be worked on in unique car bays. Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy will also spend considerable time at the new technical HQ, as it’s where the team’s driver-in-the-loop simulator can now be found.

Jaguar’s crucial move has come just 44 days away from the season 10 opener in Mexico City, where the side will be desperate to make a strong start to what looks set to be a very promising campaign.

Team Principal James Barclay was on hand to celebrate the launch of the new facility, with him labelling it as a “significant milestone” for the side which has come at the “perfect time”.

“Moving into our new technical headquarters is a significant milestone for Jaguar TCS Racing and it’s come at the perfect time,” Barclay said. “We are soon heading into the 2024 season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship where we will continue our pursuit of points, podiums and race wins.

“With our technical partner Fortescue WAE, this new facility provides a world-class platform for our talented team to thrive and engineer our future success in the pinnacle of electric motorsport.

“Innovations and technology that we will develop here in Kidlington for the race track will continue our race to road philosophy as we share the latest in electric vehicle breakthroughs with JLR to support our future production vehicles.”

Jaguar enter the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship as the clear favourites for a number of reasons, but mainly because of their stellar line-up. The addition of Cassidy has strengthened the side and given them arguably the best pairing on the grid. Cassidy and Evans finished second and third in the 2023 Drivers’ Championship.

On the whole, it was the British side who also had the best package in the first season of the Gen3 era, whilst Evans proved that further progress has been made after he went fastest in the recent pre-season test in Valencia.
