Antonio Garcia of the #3 Corvette Racing GTD-Pro was fastest in the second free practice session at Lime Rock Park ahead of qualifying just under two hours away.

The first 15 minutes were dedicated solely for GTD entries as the final 15 minutes were for GTD Pros only; the time in between featured a mixture of both classes.

It was a closely-matched field at Lime Rock Park and continued from the opening FP session on IMSA’s shortest circuit on the calendar.

During the early stages, 15 GTD cars took to the circuit to make their preparations ahead of qualifying later on, which will be a 15-minute shootout combining both classes.

Julien Andlauer, debuting at this circuit, set the pace early in the session in his #92 Kellymoss with Riley Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Meanwhile, the #91 teammate Porsche of Alan Metni started with an off at the final corner as damage was caused to the undertray and rear diffuser from his brief excursion.

Although he avoided contact with the barrier and returned to the pit lane, a brief red flag was deployed to clear up the on-track debris.

As the GTD Pros were brought in, Jordan Taylor soon took over the overall and GTD-Pro order in his #3 Corvette Racing C8.R.

He momentarily set an encouraging fastest third sector on his fifth flying lap, and maintained the top spot for the majority of FP2.

Drivers explored the circuit limits as they kicked off dust at the final corner, as the #78 and #27 each received warnings for pit speed violations.

One such example was Sheena Monk in the #66 Gradient Racing Acura NSX GT3 who had a small moment after missing her braking point and took to the grass of the sole competing Acura.

The fastest GTD was Frederik Schandorff in the #70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 finished sixth overall, initially trailing Taylor’s earlier time by just 0.009 seconds.

Misha Goikhberg was second in his #78 Forte Racing Powered by USRT Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, and seventh overall with a 51.703 lap time.

In third place in GTD, and eighth overall, was the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3.

In the final 15 minutes, the GTD-Pro field attempted their qualifying simulations and all five cars filled the top-five overall positions.

Antonio Garcia asserted pace with strong flying laps, the fastest time of 51.029 made him top of the overall field.

In second was Briton Jack Hawksworth in the #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus ahead of Patrick Pilet in the #9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche.

Jules Gounon in the #79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 is fourth in GTD Pro as the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 rounded out the top-five order.

See here for the full classification prior to qualifying for the Northeast Grand Prix at 5.40 pm ET.
