Qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 took place over the course of two days, but in the end it was Alex Palou that took pole in his fourth year running the famous race.

Palou lapped the 2.5-mile course at an average speed of 234.217 MPH, just fractionally faster than Rinus VeeKay, who earned the second place starting spot. Felix Rosenqvist will fill the outside of the front row with his own strong performance.
The story at the back of the field was just as stressful as the drama at the front. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing had nearly their entire team fighting for the final spots, and Graham Rahal was the unlucky one that was sent packing before the race even begins.
Now with the field set, attention turns to getting the cars back into race trim, and the work won’t stop until the Indy 500 begins on Sunday, May 28.
