13 Hypercars will contest the FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, a top class record for a non-Le Mans WEC race and equalling the most cars in the top class ever, 13 cars at Le Mans 2012.

The 11 Hypercars which raced a few weeks ago at Sebring, and will race again at Portimao in two weeks time, are included. In addition, Cadillac Racing has entered an extra car, the #3 Cadillac V-Series.R, with Sebastien Bourdais and Ranger van Der Zander listed as the drivers. The car’s third driver, Scott Dixon, is busy on Indycar duty that weekend, but he will race the car at Le Mans in June.

The full-season #2 Cadillac, with Alex Lynn, Earl Bamber and Richard Westbrook behind the wheel, is also listed on the entry list.

And the much-anticipated JOTA Sport customer Porsche 963 has also been officially entered, confirming the expected debut of the team in the WEC top class.

That car will be driven by Will Stevens, Antonio Felix da Costa, and Yifei Ye. Stevens and da Costa, along with designated silver driver David Beckmann, won the opening race of the season in the LMP2 class, in the #48 JOTA Oreca 07-Gibson, sponsored by Hertz.

Cadillac Racing is run by Chip Ganassi Racing. Mike O’Gara, the team’s director of operations, said: “We are looking forward to the first WEC race where both of our Cadillac Hypercars will be participating.

“Cadillac and Chip Ganassi Racing believe that we are stronger when we race multiple cars on any given race weekend. The Spa event will serve as a much-needed dress rehearsal for the Le Mans 24-hour race.

“It will be a great opportunity for our ‘IMSA regulars’ to be immersed in the WEC rules and race procedures in anticipation of the big event in June.”

Meanwhile, Laura Wontrop Klauser, General Motors’ sportscar racing chief said: “We’re excited for the opportunity to bring another Cadillac to the race at Spa in the FIA World Endurance Championship season. Any opportunity that we have to prepare for Le Mans within the WEC rules and regulations is great. This will get the team even more ready to tackle that race as well as an opportunity to bring more Cadillac participation to the European race.”

11 cars are entered in the LMP2 class for Spa. That’s almost identical to the entry list for Sebring and Portimao, minus the second JOTA, which has now switched to LMP2 as mentioned above.

In GTE-Am, Diego Alessi replaces Stefano Constantini in the #21 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, with 14 cars entered overall in the class.
