Nick Cassidy topped the time sheets in FP2 with a 1:08.118.
After the disrupted running in FP1 yesterday, the drivers were glad to get through the session cleanly collecting valuable data about the new circuit.
The Envision team worked hard overnight to get Buemi’s car back to working order after his nasty shunt in FP1.
Maserati continued to build on the strong performance they put in in FP1 with both of their cars in the top ten again. Edoardo Mortara ended the session in P2 while Maximillian Gunther’s running was good enough for eighth.
NIO 333’s Dan Ticktum impressed again, finishing the session in third while his teammate was unable to match the pace down in 15th.
Jaguar had another strong session, with Mitch Evans and Sam Bird ending the session in fourth and fifth respectively. Sebastian Buemi was the only Jaguar-powered car to not end the session in the top ten, he came home 16th fastest.
Despite one-lap pace not being their strength, Porsche ended up with both of their drivers in the top ten. Antonio Felix Da Costa continued to impress in seventh but ended the session stopped on track with an issue.
Championship leader Pascal Wehrlein finished the session in ninth with fellow championship rival Jake Dennis only able to put a lap together good enough for 20th.
Nissan’s Sacha Fenestraz rounded out the top ten, beating out his teammate Norman Nato who came home in 17th.
The action continues in Cape Town with Qualifying at 11:40 local time.
