Tower Motorsport unveiled their Rolex 24 lineup earlier today. Giving life to a long circulated rumor, the defending LMP2 champions announced that IndyCar aces Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin will run alongside Indy NXT driver Kyffin Simpson and team owner John Farano.

Behind the wheel of the #8 Tower Motorsport LMP2 machine, Newgarden and McLaughlin will make their IMSA debuts in Daytona. Together known as the “Bus Bros”, the pair have coupled spectacular on track results with very active social media presences to becomes some of the most talked about drivers of the 2022 season.

While no plans are in place officially, this may open a pathway for Newgarden and McLaughlin to drive for the Penske Porsche GTP teams, in both IMSA and WEC.

Their third driver Kyffin Simpson will race in the Indy NXT series under the HMD banner while also being a Chip Ganassi Development driver. He raced with Gradient Racing in Motul Petit Le Mans, bringing his #66 Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 to GTD class victory.

John Farano is the team owner, returning to the LMP2 field which he won last year alongside Louis Deletraz.

“Following last year’s successful season, we know we have the potential to challenge for a win at Daytona,” he said. “There’s nothing we want more than to expand on our strengths and pick up some more hardware when we cross that finish line.

The #8 Tower Motorsports star-studded lineup debuts in full at the Rolex 24, but Newgarden will take the ride for a spin at the two day IMSA sanctioned test this week.
