Ed Carpenter Racing has secured sponsorship for the #33 entry from Alzamend for the remainder of the 2022 IndyCar season, extending a deal that was originally for a single race.

One of ECR’s other major sponsors, BitNile, is a significant shareholder in the drug company, and helped to make the deal come together, which includes sponsorship for Ed Carpenter’s Indy 500 run in May.

Carpenter originally announced that Alzamend would be the prominent sponsor on his car just for the race at Texas Motor Speedway, but that how now evolved into a larger deal.

The arrangement ensures that Carpenter will be able to drive the team’s third entry at all five oval races this season, an assurance that was not guaranteed at the start of this season.

In addition to adorning the side of Ed Carpenter’s ride for the five races he plans to run this year, it will also be the title sponsor for Rinus VeeKay at this weekend’s upcoming Grand Prix of Long Beach.

“We are very proud to support Alzamend and raise awareness to their efforts to fight Alzheimer’s,” said Carpenter when the brand initially came on board.  “This relationship is especially important to myself and my family as we have personal experience with Alzheimer’s and know how it affects the whole family.

“We’ve been talking to Todd Ault and his team about how we can support Alzamend and it’s exciting to see this come together. Mr. Ault and his group have been fantastic since they joined us and their excitement for our sport and race team is so encouraging. I can’t wait to get out there and do a good job for Alzamend.”

Along with the announcement of the season-long deal, ECR unveiled a new livery that has a striking dark purple color alongside sky blue highlights to match the sponsor’s corporate colors.
