The Frenchman posted a 01:10.796 in the #5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-VR, 0.026s faster than the #01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac of Kevin Magnussen.

The top three was rounded out by the #55 Mazda RT24-P of Oliver Jarvis.

At the halfway point of the session, it began raining. With no rain on the forecast for Saturday’s ten-hour race, most of the teams completed no further running.
