Lapierre sweeps Rookie Test, Milesi quickest rookie

Nicolas Lapierre has set the fastest time in the second and final session of the WEC Rookie Test after also topping the morning session.

The Frenchman posted a 01:48:875 aboard the #36 Alpine A480-Gibson to go quickest, although his time saw slower than that set in the morning.

The #8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid was second-fastest in the hands of Sebastien Buemi. Sebastien Ogier completed the majority of the running aboard the car, posting a 01:51:189 as his best effort.

Mike Conway was third in the #7 Toyota, nearly two seconds behind Buemi. Charles Milesi, who drove the car in the morning session, completed no running in the car in the afternoon.

Sophia Floersch once again set the quickest time in LMP2 in the #31 Team WRT ORECA 07-Gibson. She posted her fastest time of the day on lap 17 of the afternoon session, setting a 01:51:179.

Jazeman Jaafar was second in the #28 JOTA ORECA, 0.308s behind Floersch. The #21 DragonSpeed ORECA was third as Sebastian Montoya completed 37 laps and set a 01:52:245, a second down on Floersch.

After not running in the car in the morning session, two-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick completed 26 laps behind the wheel of the #1 Richard Mille Racing Team ORECA. Chadwick posted a 01:53:668 to go fourth in class.

Kevin Estre completed 77 laps in the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 and went quickest in GTE Pro, posting a 01:57:583. Alessandro Pier Guidi was 0.052s slower in second place.

Richard Lietz was third for Porsche, with Simon Mann rounding out the class with 78 laps in the #52 Ferrari. The American driver, who will contest the 2022 WEC season alongside Toni Vilander and Christoph Ulrich, set a 02:00:014.

Robert Kubica set the quickest time in the #60 Iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, posting a 01:58:632.
