Two loose or missing lug nuts on the #77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet of Justin Haley at the end of the Federated Auto Parts 400 Salute to First Responders at Richmond Raceway on Sept. 11 has sidelined crew chief Kevin Bellicourt for Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Bellicourt was issued a one-race suspension and a $20,000 fine for the rules infraction.
James Small, crew chief for Martin Truex Jr. on the #19 Joe Gibbs Racing team, was fined $10,000 after Truex won the Richmond race. Small’s fine was the result of one improperly secured lug nut on the #19 at the end of the Richmond race.
