Lap 12 saw Collet drive to the inside of Crawford for seventh at Turn 1 before Sargeant got by the American driver for eighth six laps later.

Drama came with three laps to go. Martins went for an overambitious overtake on Schumacher for second at Turn 3 but sent the German into the barrier and out of the race.

The incident deployed the Virtual Safety Car and Martins would swiftly receive a ten-second time penalty for the contact.

Hauger took the chequered flag for his fourth win of the season and collecting the points for the fastest lap ahead of Novalak and Smolyar who completed the podium.

Fourth was Doohan in front of Collet, Sargeant and Crawford. Vesti was eighth and out of the championship race, with Arthur Leclerc ninth and Martins tenth with the penalty applied.

The Race 3 result confirms that only Dennis Hauger and Jack Doohan can be crowned champion going into the final round of the series.

The Norwegian is 43 points clear with a maximum of 65 left on the table.

The last round of the year will be in Sochi, supporting the Russian Grand Prix weekend on 24-26 September.
