Jamie Chadwick took her second win of the 2021 W Series in Hungary after putting in a dominant performance for the Veloce Racing team.

The reigning champion led every session over the weekend even taking the bonus point for the fastest lap to reclaim the championship lead bu just a single point.

Her main title rival, Alice Powell, was second for Racing X with the pair each holding two race wins this season.

W Series Academy driver Nerea Marti completed the podium in third, just pipping her team-mate Irina Sidorkova over the line.

Fifth place went to Beitske Visser ahead of Emma Kimilainen, Marta Garcia and Caitlin Wood, eighth.

The race saw a 10-minute delay following Carlos Sainz’s qualifying crash, but as the lights went out pole-sitter Chadwick did well to fend off a fast-starting Powell to retain the lead into Turn 1.

Sidorkova took fourth as she passed Visser into Turn 3 followed by an incident for Fabienne Wohlwend, who made contact on the opening lap causing her to lose her front-wing. She would pit for repairs before retiring on Lap 11.

Miki Koyama and Abbie Eaton were also involved in a coming together on Lap 14 as they battled over 12th position. The clash is under investigation.

Meanwhile Chadwick continued to build a gap to her chasing rivals, eventually finishing an impressive ten seconds up the road from Powell, who had no answer to the fellow Britain’s superior pace.
