Three drivers in Formula 1’s feeder series FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 have been awarded grid penalties for this weekend’s rounds in Mugello.

The first in F2 is Juri Vips, who was deemed to have impeded Louis Deletraz during Friday’s qualifying session.

The Estonian as a result, has been given a grid drop of three places from seventh to tenth for Saturday’s Feature Race, elevating Luca Ghiotto, title-contender Robert Shwartzman and Jack Aitken up a place each.

The other penalties are in F3, where Dennis Hauger and Michael Belov have also each been awarded three-place grid penalties for Race 1 on Saturday morning.

Hauger was found to have blocked Clement Novalak whilst the Carlin driver was on a flying lap. Therefore, the Hitech pilot moves down from ninth to 12th, promoting Alex Smolyar, Jack Doohan and one of the drivers for the title Liam Lawson, all moving up a position.

Belov impeded Cameron Das as well, meaning the Russian’s 23rd grid position becomes 26th behind Federico Malvestiti, Lukas Dunner and Sophia Florsch.
