Record eight current F1 drivers join virtual Monaco Grand Prix grid

A record eight current Formula 1 drivers will join the grid for this weekend’s VirtualGP around the streets of Monte Carlo.

Joining the grid for the very first time will be Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas and Renault’s Esteban Ocon.

They join virtual regulars Charles Leclerc, Alexander Albon, Lando Norris, Antonio Giovinazzi, George Russell and Nicholas Latifi.

Leclerc will be joined at Ferrari by his younger brother Arthur, whilst former F1 drivers Esteban Gutierrez and Vitantonio Liuzzi will participate with Mercedes and AlphaTauri respectively.

Celebrity drivers include singer Luis Fonsi of Despacito fame, surfer Kai Lenny, Arsenal football player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Spanish goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

The race will consist of 39 laps around the virtual Monaco Grand Prix circuit on the official Formula 1 game – F1 2019 developed by Codemasters.

The race will start at 6pm UK (1pm US Eastern) and will be broadcast worldwide on YouTube as well as select broadcasters including Sky Sports F1 in the UK.
