Brennan Poole will join a 2020 NASCAR Cup Series rookie class that will also include 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Tyler Reddick, Cole Custer and Christopher Bell. Poole recently announced he is joining Premium Motorsports to drive the #15 Chevrolet full-time in the Cup Series in 2020. The Daytona 500 on Feb. 16 will be Poole's Cup debut.
“I’ve been working towards this moment since I was five and feel blessed to have the caliber of people surrounding me that I have in this next chapter of my racing career,” Poole said. “I look forward to the opportunity to showcase our sponsor partners, both new and existing, who are supporting me at the highest level of NASCAR competition.”
Poole assumes the driver's seat that primarily was occupied by Ross Chastain in 2019. Chastain is slated to drive a Kaulig Racing entry full-time in the Xfinity Series in 2020.
The 2020 Cup season will be Poole's first full-time season in any of NASCAR's three national series since 2017. He drove an On Point Motorsports entry in 13 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races in 2019, notching a best finish of second at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Poole raced full-time in the Xfinity Series in 2016 and 2017, and in 83 series races, he posted eight top-fives and 36 top-10 finishes, including a best finish of secon at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta for Chip Ganassi Racing in 2017.
