Sergio Jimenez took a victory over Simon Evans in the second race of the 2019/20 Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY season in Diriyah.

After finishing in the runner-up spot in Race 1, reigning champion Jimenez took pole position for the second race of the weekend, going on to take a lights to flag victory.

The closely contested 25-minute + 1 lap race was a hard-fought affair, with a collision between Mario Haberfeld and Fahad Algosaibi causing a red flag with 11-minutes of racing remaining, with the Brazilian driver pitching the Saudi pilot into the wall at Turn 1.

Following a lengthy stoppage, the race resumed behind the safety car and when the green flag waved, Jimenez held off Evans to take his first win of the season.

While Evans followed Jimenez in second, Alice Powell took third, however, none of the leading trio deployed their final use of Attack Mode, making the overall podium positions provisional.

VIP driver Abbie Eaton took fourth place while Haberfeld nursed his heavily damaged Jaguar Brazil Racing car to the chequered flag to complete the top five.

Yaqi Zhang followed in sixth overall to win the Pro-Am race and was followed by Chao Sun, Mashhur Bal Hejaila and Reema Juffali who was ninth. Algosaibi completed the field after failing to see the chequered flag.
