The FIA World Endurance Committee has revealed that both Toyota TS050 Hybrids will be slowed down to the tune of 2.74 seconds for the 4 Hours of Shanghai.

Since the #7 of Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maria Lopez and Mike Conway and the #8 of Brendon Hartley, Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi are tied in the championship standings with 43 points, both hybrid LMP1s have been handed identical success ballast penalties.

The weight of the two cars remains unchanged at 932kg, but the FIA has instead taken measures to reduce the available amount of ERS power per lap, decrease the fuel flow and reduce the size of the fuel restrictor.

During the third round of the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship, the two cars will be limited to 2.75MJ per lap of boost. In comparison, the #7 ran 3.02 MJ per lap during the last round in Fuju, while the #8 was allowed 3.34 MJ per lap.

The fuel flow has been limited to 74kg/h, while the fuel restrictor diameter has been set at 19.6mm. Fuel allowance has been increased to 51.3 MJ per lap in accordance with the Shanghai International Circuit's longer track length.

The non-hybrid LMP1 machinery has only been handed extra weight for next week's race. The #6 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 – AER is the so called 'reference car' and remains unpenalized at 833 kilograms.

The #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson of Bruno Senna, Gustavo Menezes and Norman Nato, which was the highest classified non-hybrid in Fuji, will be slowed down by 0.89s compared to the #6 Ginetta. This will be achieved by increasing the minimum weight from 825 kilograms to 862.

Jordan King, Egor Orudzhev and Ben Hanley see the smallest weight drop. The #5 Ginetta has been handed six additional kilos and will now be running 861 kilograms, resulting in a 0.65s per lap decrease.
