Team Penske has shuffled some of its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series pit crew personnel ahead of Sunday's rFirst Data 500 at Martinsville Speedway, the first race in the third round, or round of eight, of the 2019 playoffs.
Most of the pit crew personnel on the #2 crew of driver Brad Keselowski and the #12 team of Ryan Blaney were swapped. But jack man Graham Stoddard and tire carrier Wade Moore frin the #12 team were moved to Joey Logano's #22 team, giving Logano's team much of the same look it had in its championship season of a year ago.
"We had a rookie jackman this year who has made a lot of good gains over this season, but I feel the opportunity to put, basically, the same team together that won the championship last year for the next few races, I think, was a smart play. We definitely needed some speed from the pit crew side of things, and putting the band back together from where it was last year when we won the championship makes sense, so I was on board with that.”
Logano and Blaney are among the eight drivers remaining in the playoffs after the Oct. 20 elimination race at Kansas Speedway. Keselowski, though, was eliminated from the playoffs after a 19th-place finish at Kansas
