ART Grand Prix regular Christian Lundgaard remained atop the timesheets during the second day of post-season Formula 3 testing at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo Circuit.

Lundgaard, part of Renault’s Formula 1 driver scheme, was the only driver to dip below the 1:21s, with his best time of 1:20.860 coming during Monday morning’s session.

MP Motorsport’s Lorenzo Colombo got closest to Lundgaard – falling 0.152s short – while Honda-backed Yuki Tsunoda was third for Hitech Grand Prix.

David Beckmann, who raced for ART in 2019, was fourth for Trident, with Sebastian Fernandez and ADAC F4 champion Theo Pourchaire fifth and seventh respectively for the French outfit.

They were split by Jack Doohan – son of MotoGP legend Mick – as the Red Bull protégé continued with Hitech.

Campos Racing’s Linus Lundqvist, HWA Racelab veteran Jake Hughes and MP Motorsport’s Bent Viscaal rounded out the top 10.

Elsewhere on Monday 2019 Teams’ champions Prema was dealt a blow to its Macau Grand Prix prospects as ex-Force India protégé Jehan Daruvala withdrew due to a knee injury.

Daruvala has had surgery in the wake of a training accident and has been ruled out of next month’s F3 World Cup.

Prema has yet to determine Daruvala’s replacement; it has already confirmed 2019 F3 champion Robert Shwartzman and runner-up Marcus Armstrong will remain with the team for Macau.

Formula 3 testing will conclude at Valencia on Tuesday with Billy Monger returning to action for Carlin, while Sophia Floersch will make her F3 test debut with HWA Racelab.
