Maximilian Gunther concluded pre-season testing for the impending 2019/20 Formula E campaign at the top of the timesheets for BMW i Andretti Motorsport.

The afternoon session at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia was plagued by a series of red flags and ended under halted conditions, with Gunther clobbering the wall at the close of the session.

The German racer set a best time of a 1m 15.087s to set the fastest lap of the week, beating Pascal Wehrlein's previous lap record that was set on the morning of the final day by 0.103s.

Wehrlein failed to better his morning lap time in the afternoon, however, ended pre-season testing with the second-fastest time overall, with rookie Nico Mueller taking third on the final day despite crashing late on in the afternoon.

Like Wehrlein and Mueller, DS Techeetah's Antonio Felix da Costa also failed to improve, however, took fourth in the final table while Mitch Evans completed the top five, taking the second-fastest time of the afternoon while trailing Gunther by 0.219s.

For the second test day in succession, another race simulation was held. While Stoffel Vandoorne emerged 'victorious' on the first occasion, Sebastien Buemi was the 'winner' in the second as the Swiss racer piloted his Nissan IM02 to the sixth fastest time.

After crashing in the morning, Alexander Sims returned to the track and secured the seventh fastest time on Day 3, edging ahead of Jerome d'Ambrosio in the second Mahindra M6Electro.

Reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne followed the Belgian in ninth while Venturi's Felipe Massa completed the top 10 despite crashing in the simulation race earlier in the afternoon. 0.417s separated Massa from Gunther in what was a closely grouped leading field.

Outside of the top 10, Sam Bird was the lead driver with an Audi powertrain while Porsche marginally outpaced fellow debutants Mercedes EQ as Andre Lotterer beat Vandoorne to 16th by 0.067s after the Belgian crashed in the afternoon.

0.996s covered the top 22 runners, with NIO 333 drivers Oliver Turvey and Ma Qing Hua finishing firmly outside of the one-second barrier of Gunther's pace, 1.481s and 1.960s down.
