With three hours gone in the 6 Hours of Fuji, Toyota Gazoo Racing holds a commanding one-two lead, with the #8 TS050 Hybrid, currently in the hands of Brendon Hartley, leading the #7 of Mike Conway by about a lap, with the #1 Rebellion of Norman Nato in third place.

Rebellion challenged Toyota in the opening phase of the race, with the non-hybrid privateer machine seemingly having a straight line speed advantage over the Toyotas, but once the leaders started hitting traffic, the Toyotas began opening up a gap, and have led comfortably ever since.

In LMP2, Will Stevens currently leads in the polesitting #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA leads, with Anders Fjordback second for High Class Racing ahead of Racing Team Nederland's Nyck de Vries. Racing Team Nederland led the early stages, with the #29 very quick in the hands of Giedo van der Garde. Van der Garde then handed over to bronze-rated Frits van Eerd, causing the bright yellow ORECA to drop down the order, but picked up the pace again when Formula 2 champion De Vries took over.

Fjordbach then spun his #33 High Class Racing ORECA, losing second and third place before mechanical gremlins struck for Filipe Albuquerque's #22 United Autosports ORECA, promoting Fjordback back up to second as Nyck de Vries slipped into third place. De Vries then moved into second as Fjordback pitted right on the hour, with Antonio Felix da Costa's #38 blue and yellow JOTA Sport ORECA now in third.

In GTE Pro, Aston Martin Racing hold a one two lead as the #95 Vantage AMR of Marco Sorensen leads ahead of the #97 of Maxime Martin. The #91 Porsche of Gianmaria Bruni and Richard Lietz was running up front, but Bruni was penalized for repeated track limit infractions, dropping them down the order. The two Ferraris continue to struggle for pace, but the #51 AF Corse 488 GTE Evo of Alessandro Pier Guidi holds on to third place.

TF Sport continues to lead in GTE Am, with Charlie Eastwood leading the #90 Aston Martin Vantage AMR ahead of the #57 Team Project 1 Porsche of Jeroen Bleekemolen, which has made its way from the back of the field. The Silverstone winning #83 AF Corse Ferrari is third at the hands of Emmanuel Collard.

An safety car was brought out when Hoshino hit Dalla Lana from behind under braking in the final sector, damaging both cars and leaving debris on the track. Both cars are running, but the #98 Aston Martin is now in last place.
