Venturi Racing will use Mercedes power for the impending 2019/20 Formula E campaign, entering a supplier relationship with the German marque for Season 6.

For the 2019/20 season, the Monegasque outfit will utilise the manufacturer’s cooling system, rear frame, rear suspension, dampers, software, onboard electronics, wires and powertrain, designed by Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth.

While the team will receive its Season 6 powertrain from Mercedes, Venturi will work closely with the debuting outfit, supporting the development of the squad’s Silver Arrow 01 car while benefitting from its motor racing pedigree.

"We are proud to welcome Mercedes-Benz to the Venturi family as our powertrain partner for Season 6," said Gildo Pastor, President of Venturi Automobiles.

"Pairing our experience in high-performing electric vehicles with the racing pedigree of Mercedes is a significant step towards strengthening our position in a racing formula that is becoming ever-more-competitive.

"We’re all excited about this new era for the team and I’m confident this will be the start of a great journey with our new colleagues in Stuttgart and Brixworth.”

Team Principal, Susie Wolff, added: "This development marks a significant step forward for the team and, with my longstanding relationship with Mercedes-Benz, I feel very confident that we will enjoy a strong working partnership with our new powertrain suppliers.

"We made good progress in Season 5 but our plans for Season 6 are even more ambitious and we are doing everything within our power to make sure that we are as competitive as possible before we head to Saudi for the season opener."

For Season 6, Venturi will sport the same driver lineup, with Felipe Massa and Edoardo Mortara pairing up for a second consecutive season, driving the team’s 2019/20 car which is set to sport a striking white livery.

By switching to Mercedes power, Venturi ends its relationship with long-term powertrain supplier ZF, who are set to partner with Mahindra Racing for Season 6.
