Mitch Evans will continue to drive for Panasonic Jaguar Racing in Season 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, forming one half of the team’s 2019/20 lineup.
Evans joined Formula E with Jaguar in the series’ third season of competition, with the looming 2019/20 campaign set to mark his four successive campaign with the British marque.
In Season 5, Evans emerged as one of several championship contenders, fighting for the Drivers’ title in the final race of the season in New York while the Kiwi also secured his maiden win in the series in a memorable and closely contested Rome E-Prix.
"I’m really happy to be staying with the team for a fourth season," said Evans.
"I have had a taste for victory driving for Panasonic Jaguar Racing now all I want is more! The team is getting stronger and I feel at home here. I’m determined to push forward with Panasonic Jaguar Racing, building on last season’s success as we hunt down more points, podiums and wins."
Team Director James Barclay added: "We are delighted that Mitch has committed his future to Panasonic Jaguar Racing and will remain an integral part of the team for the foreseeable future.
"We have grown together in the last three seasons and developed into a winning team capable of fighting at the front of this highly competitive championship. Together we look forward to writing the next chapter of Jaguar Racing’s history."
Jaguar Racing will launch its Season 6 challenger next week where Evans’ team-mate will be announced.
After completing various test work for Jaguar over the summer, it is understood that James Calado will partner Evans at the team, with the former FIA WEC LMGTE Pro champion set to make a return to single-seater racing, replacing Alex Lynn.
Pre-season testing for Season 6 will take place from October 15-18 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain.
