Jamie Chadwick will start from pole position for the title deciding season finale of the W Series at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
Chadwick, who only needs a podium finish to guarantee her the title and $500,000 prize pot, took a dominant pole with more than three-tenths splitting her and fellow British driver Alice Powell.
Esmee Hawkey secured her best qualifying result of the season in third to make it an all-British top-three with Emma Kimilainen lining up fourth. The Assen race winner looked set to challenge for pole but made some late mistakes, running wide at Westfield, forcing her to abort one of her flying laps.
Chadwick's title rival Beitske Visser could only muster fifth place as she finished 0.785s adrift with a time of 1:23.210, meaning her challenge of closing a 13-point gap will be even more difficult now.
Fabienne Wohlwend was sixth quickest ahead of Miki Koyama, Sarah Moore, Jessica Hawkins and Vicky Piria completing the top ten.
