Rebellion confirms 2019/20 WEC line-up

Rebellion has announced the driver line-up for its single car entry into the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The Swiss squad will be entering a single Rebellion R13-Gibson into the LMP1 class, slimming down from the two-car entry it ran for the previous season. The car will be driven by the returning Gustavo Menezes and Bruno Senna, who will be joined by newcomer Norman Nato.

The team tested a variety of drivers, including ex-F1 driver Felipe Nasr and Nathanaël Berthon. Berthon reportedly had a deal for the season, but will not be returning to the team now that it has slimmed down from two cars to one.

While Menezes and Senna both competed with the team for the 2018/19 Super Season, Nato is a relative newcomer to sportscar, racing in Formula 2 as recently as 2017.

The Frenchman debuted in ELMS with Racing Engineering in 2018, and has since raced for G-Drive in ELMS, TDS Racing in WEC and RLR MSport at Le Mans.

Alexandre Pesci, President and Owner of Rebellion Racing, commented: “We are very happy to have Gustavo for a new season and to let him express all his talent on the track. The Team is extremely proud to always count on one of the best endurance drivers Bruno Senna."

"We are looking forward to seeing Norman Nato at the wheel of our car in LMP1 category. He surprised us during the Barcelona Prologue by quickly understanding the Rebellion R-13 car. Now, focus on Silverstone!”
