Part-time NASCAR driver Jeffrey Earnhardt and his sponsor, iK9, have gone their separate ways, the driver announced via Twitter on Wednesday.

"Just wanted to let ya’ll know that iK9 and I have parted ways and wanted to thank them for the opportunity to race with @JoeGibbsRacing & @ToyotaRacing. Wish them the best in their future,” the tweet from Earnhardt (@JEarnhardt1) read.

Earnhardt's deal with iK9 put him behind the wheel of the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing entry and a #81 Xtreme Concepts Racing entry for a partial NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule in 2019. Xtreme Concepts Racing is a new team with a technical alliance with JGR. The only races it entered were races with Earnhardt inn its car. Between the #18 and #81 cars, Earnhardt contested seven Xfinity Series races in 2019, resulting in three top-10 finishes, one of those a top-five.

Earnhardt also was slated to drive an Xtreme Concepts Racing entry in the Oct. 13 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. He drove the car in a Cup race at Talladega earlier this season, retiring from the race early because of a crash.

The future of the Xtreme Concepts Racing team is unknown. Joe Gibbs Racing has yet to announce another driver for the four remaining Xfinity Series races in which Earnhardt was scheduled to drive the #18, including Saturday's race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
