Dane Cameron has set the fastest time in the first free practice session ahead of this weekend's IMSA round at Road America.
Cameron set a 01:50:007 in the #6 Team Penske Acura ARX-05, 0.023s clear of Colin Braun's CORE Autosport Nissan DPi. Ricky Taylor was third, exactly one-tenth behind team-mate Cameron.
The Acuras and the Nissan were significantly ahead in the weekend's opening session, with Felipe Nasr setting the quickest Cadillac time in the #31 Whelen Engineering DPi-VR. The Brazilian set a 01:51:241, well over a second behind Cameron.
Mazda Team Joest, which has won the last two rounds it competed in, weren't able to do better than sixth, with Harry Tincknell fastest with 01:51:578, one and a half second behind the Acuras.
Porsche set the pace in GTLM, with Nick Tandy fastest in the #911. The Briton posted a 02:02:147, nearly half a second clear of compatriot Oliver Gavin in the #3 Corvette. He set a time of 02:02:544. The top three was completed by a third separate manufacturer, as Tom Blomqvist was third quickest in the #25 BMW M8 GTE.
Antonio Garcia was fourth in the #4 Corvette, ahead of Porsche's Laurens Vanthoor and John Edwards in the second BMW, while the two Chip Ganassi Ford GTs brought up the rear in class.
Dutchman Jeroen Bleekemolen was quickest in GT Daytona, setting a 02:06:060 in the #33 Riley Motorsports Mercedes AMG-GT3 to beat Paul Miller Racing's Bryan Sellers by 0.042 seconds.
