Dorian Boccolacci rejoins the Formula 2 field at Silverstone for the British round of the championship with Team Trident after missing the two races in Austria.
The Frenchman began the 2019 season with Campos Racing but his time with Spanish team had ended after the French meeting with Arjun Maini filling in the seat for Austria.
Swiss driver Ralph Boschung had also begun the season with Trident but also dropped out due to running into financial difficulties. American driver Ryan Tveter filled in for Boschung in Austria.
"I'm elated to get back to the Team Trident family after the remarkable results we scored together in the 2017 GP3 Series," said the Frenchman.
"There are mutual trust and respect with the team and I'm happy the conditions have been met to get back working together. I can't wait to be back on track and secure an important result at Silverstone."
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager, added: "I am very happy to announce that Dorian Boccolacci will return to Team Trident next weekend at Silverstone.
"We will do our best to assist our driver so that he can quickly find the right chemistry with our car and help the team to capture a prestigious result."
Boccolacci is currently 12th in the F2 drivers' championship on 30 points, his best result coming in this season's Monaco feature race where he finished fourth.
