The hydrogen-powered MissionH24 LMPH2G prototype will complete a demo lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe ahead of the 87th running of the Le Mans 24 Hour race.
The prototype machine, developed in partnership between GreenGT and the ACO, aims to lead the way in creating a zero-emission class for the famous endurance event.
The LMPH2G has already conducted test laps at both Spa-Francorchamps and during last week's Le Mans test day, but will complete its most important demonstration to date before the Le Mans grid roars into actionon June 15.
"Our LMPH2G racing prototype to open the proceedings at the 2019 Le Mans 24 starting grid with a demonstration lap of the full legendary circuit! Set your watches for 14:42 on Saturday 15 June," read a social media post from the operation.
The ACO says the lap of the 13.626-kilometre circuit will prove a "significant milestone" in the project's path to promoting hydrogen power in motor racing, with the aim of introducing a special hydrogen-powered prototype class at the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours.
