Audi Sport Team Rosberg's Jamie Green will miss this weekend's DTM races due to acute appendicitis, of which he is currently recovering from in hospital.
"The symptoms appeared all of a sudden during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday," explained Head of Audi Motorsport Dieter Gass.
"We all wish Jamie a speedy recovery. He’ll definitely not be fit for racing again this weekend."
The British driver will be replaced by Audi WRT's Pietro Fittipaldi, who had been set to skip this weekend because of a clash over duties as reserve driver for the Haas F1 Team, which will be in Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend.
MotoGP star Andrea Doviziso has been entered as a wildcard, filling Fittipaldi's vacant seat at WRT.
"We’re happy that Pietro is able to stand in for him on such short notice. For us, Pietro is the best solution," added Gass. "He knows the car and showed strong performances in his first two DTM events."
