Sebastian Vettel insists he has no plans to quit Formula 1 after 2019

Sebastian Vettel has rebuffed rumours that he is considering walking away from Formula 1 at the end of the current season.

The four-time World Champion has yet to win a race this season so far and sits third in the standings, 55 points adrift of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton after just six races.

He is also under pressure from team-mate Charles Leclerc, who has impressed, whilst Ferrari have not only struggled with performance, but with strategy too which has cost them valuable points.

But Vettel insists rumours of his retirement are premature and he is still determined to see Ferrari back on top.

"I have no plans to stop [racing in] Formula 1," he told Auto Bild ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix. "I still have a lot of fun, and I still have something to do at Ferrari.

"We want to try everything again this season to bring about the turnaround and the Canadian GP should be the beginning of that.

"Our car is good, but we're still getting to know it. We're finding it harder this season to find the best way to work with the tyres, which has been better for the others, but we are learning every day, and this knowledge also benefits us to build the car for next season."
