Porsche unveils special Le Mans liveries

Porsche has unveiled the special liveries that it will be using at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

At the previous round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, Porsche captured the manufacturers' title in GTE Pro. To commemorate this achievement, both the #91 and #92 Porsches will be sporting gold colours in place of the usual red colour.

The #93 and #94 cars, which regularly compete in the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship, will be sporting the distinctive Brumos retro livery that has been on the car for the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring. The design, a throwback to the Brumos Porsche designs of the 70s and 80s has proven popular at the opening rounds of the IMSA season.

The pair of WEC Porsches will also be battling for the driver's championship at Le Mans. The #92 of Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen currently holds a 36-point lead over the #91 of Gianmaria Bruni and Richard Lietz.

“The gold paintwork on the two 911 RSR racers from the WEC symbolises the early win of the world title for manufacturers, which is something we’re very proud of,” said Fritz Enzinger, Porsche vice president of motorsport. “The Brumos design is one of the most famous and popular vehicle liveries in motor racing.

"This year this finish celebrates its Le Mans debut. In 2018, our cars sported a special design and yielded us a brilliant double victory at Le Mans. We hope to achieve a similar result this year.”
