Beitske Visser topped the second practice session ahead of Saturday's W Series race at Zolder, with Hockenheim race winner Jamie Chadwick coming in second.
Chadwick was actually quicker, having set a best lap of 1:28.862 in first free practice, but was a second slower in second practice, with Visser outpacing the Briton by just over three tenths with a time of 1:29.490.
The pair traded quickest laps throughout the session before the Dutch racer finally moved ahead and remained there until the end of the session.
Spain's Marta Garcia was third fastest, just over a tenth back on Chadwick, and improved on her opening session position where she was sixth quickest.
Tasmin Pepper was fourth ahead of Emma Kimilainen and Fabienne Wohlwend.
With rain arriving at the Zolder circuit in the second half, almost everyone remained in the pits bar Gosia Rdest who went out to check the conditions and the wet lines, which could be useful tomorrow as rain is expected at some point during the day.
Rdest was seventh ahead of Sabre Cook, Esmee Hawkey and Sarah Moore completing the top ten.
The first session saw a red flag when former GP3 driver Vicky Piria ran into the gravel. She was 11th quickest in the second session.
Alice Powell was the only driver who failed to set a timed lap and she rounded out the 19 runners.
