Racing Team Nederland has revealed a one-off livery for its Dallara P217, which is set to be raced at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Drivers Giedo van der Garde, Frits van Eerd and Nyck de Vries unveiled the matte livery together with Italian Giancarlo Minardi.
Minardi, owner and founder of the now defunct Minardi F1 Team, is a close friend of team owner Van Eerd.
Van Eerd explained to Motorsport Week that the black and yellow colour scheme was inspired by Minardi's Formula One machinery.
"It’s a design from an early Minardi F1 car, from 1992," said Van Eerd. "That inspired me so much, because I always loved the Minardi designs. So this time, we used the Minardi design from 1992. And it looks absolutely fabulous."
The Dallara was unveiled alongside the 1992 Minardi M192 upon which its design was based. Racing Team Nederland currently sits fifth in the LMP2 standings of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be the Dutch squad's final appearance with the Dallara P217, as it switches to Oreca machinery for the 2019/2020 season.
