SMP Racing topped the timing sheets at the end of the first practice session ahead of this weekend's TOTAL Six Hours of Spa Francorchamps.
The #17 BR Engineering BR1-AER of Stephane Sarrazin, Egor Orudzhev and Sergey Sirotkin topped the timing sheets with a fastest time of 01:56:264, two seconds ahead of the #11 sister car of Vitaly Petrov, Mikhail Aleshin and WEC debutant Stoffel Vandoorne.
The pair of Toyotas were third and fourth, with the #8 of Kazuki Nakajima, Fernando Alonso and Sebastien Buemi just over one-tenths quicker than the #7 car of Mike Conway, Jose Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi. The two Rebellions took fifth and sixth, while the ByKolles ENSO CLM P1/01 brought up the rear.
IN LMP2, Signatech Alpine Matmut was quickest, with the #36 Alpine A470 outpacing the G-Drive Aurus 01 by just over two-tenths. Racing Team Nederland completed the top three, with their #29 Dallara P217 in third.
Top honours in GTE Pro went to both Aston Martin and Ford, with Alex Lynn and Maxime Martin and Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell setting an identical time of 02:15:290. The #82 BMW of Augusto Farfus and Antonio Felix da Costa was third.
Finally, in GTE Am, Gulf Racing went fastest, with the trio of Mike Wainwright, Thomas Preining and Ben Barker beating out the #54 Spirit of Race Ferrari by under a tenth. Just under half a second back, Matt Campbell, Riccardo Pera and Christian Ried took third in the #77 Dempsey-Proton Porsche 911 RSR.
