Elfyn Evans has been awarded the same time as Ott Tanak – 10m03.6s – for the final stage of Friday's Tour de Corse to retain the lead.
Evans had led prior to the final stage but dropped down to third after getting stuck behind the Yaris of Kris Meeke, which was suffering from suspension arm damage sustained during the previous stage.
The Welshman had lost upwards of 10 seconds but the organisers used data from the previous run of the Alta-Rocca stage to recify the unrepresentative time from Evans.
This leaves Evans with a lead of 4.5 seconds over Tanak going into Saturday's stages, with Tanak and Thierry Neuville in second and third.
Speaking after the stage, Meeke insisted he never intended to hold his rival up.
"Sorry for holding Elfyn up on the last stage but no way was it intended, I had hoped the organisers had given him an extra minute gap, I don’t want to get involved in the race for the lead, hopefully it can get sorted out."
