Jordan King and Mahaveer Raghunathan will compete for MP Motorsport in Formula 2 this season.

King previously raced in Formula 2 – and predecessor GP2 – from 2015 through 2017, taking two wins and seventh in the 2016 standings.

He also made a handful of Formula 1 test appearances with the now-defunct Manor squad.

King spent last year competing in the road/street courses in IndyCar but was unable to secure a full-time seat for 2019 and will now return to Formula 2.

He will nonetheless miss the Monaco round due to his planned participation at the Indianapolis 500.

Raghunathan, meanwhile, has not raced single-seaters full-time since 2016, having previously been a backmarker in Formula 3.

“It is great to be working with and supporting the team at MP Motorsport again”, said King, who spent 2017 with the Dutch team.

“I only have good memories of working with everyone at MP and I’m delighted the team have put their trust in me to help them progress as much as possible – and I’m sure we’ll reach our full potential together.

“My full focus has been on my debuts in WEC and the Indy 500 but I’m proud to be coming back into the MP and F2 families.”

Added Raghunathan: “I’m very happy with this great opportunity.

“We had a positive test at Barcelona, and I will use that experience to make a good start to the season.

“Having such an experienced team mate as Jordan will be invaluable as I’m aware that I’m on a steep learning curve.”
