Former McLaren Formula 1 team racing director Eric Boullier has taken up a role with the organiser of the French Grand Prix.
Boullier quit McLaren last year as part of a management reshuffle following yet another year of disappointment for the British squad.
The Frenchman will return to an F1-related role after taking up a 'strategic advisor' and 'global ambassador' position with the French GP, a statement from the organiser confirmed.
"During his 20 years in the sport, he has been a driving force in the development of every team he has worked with," French GP president Christian Estrosi said.
"Eric has advanced technical and sporting knowledge, a unique experience, and I have already benefited greatly from his advice and expertise during our working group for the return of the French Grand Prix."
Boullier said he was "proud" to be working for his home race, which returned to the calendar last year following a ten-year hiatus.
"I am happy and proud to have the opportunity to collaborate again with the French Grand Prix organisation," he added.
"I attach particular importance to this French Grand Prix and I look forward to contributing to the success of this major motorsport event.
"I thank Christian Estrosi for his trust and I am delighted to bring him my experience and my determination."
