Land Motorsport loses Daytona 24 podium following drive time violation

Montaplast by Land Motorsport has lost its podium place from the Rolex 24 at Daytona due to a drive time violation. In a post-race audit it was discovered that the #29 Audi R8 LMS Evo did not meet the minumum driver time requirements.

Ricky Feller, driving the Audi alongside Daniel Morad, Dries Vanthoor and Christopher Mies, was found to be in violation of drive time requirements.

Each silver or bronze driver had to individually achieve the minimum drive time of four hours and 45 minutes. According to IMSA, 'the requirements were reduced by a percentage commensurate to the time lost while drive-time was stopped for red flags during the event.'

As a result, the Land Motorsport car, which finished in second place last weekend, has been dropped to 22nd position. This promotes the #12 AIM Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Frankie Montecalvo, Townsend Bell, Aaron Telitz and Jeff Segal to second place. The infraction results in a podium spot for Team WRT Speedstar, as the #88 Audi of Roman DeAngelis, Frederic Vervisch, Kelvin van der Linde and Ian James is promoted to third place in GTD.

Scuderia Corsa was also affected, as it was found that Toni Vilander was found to be in violation of base time requirements in the #63 Ferrari 488 GT3. Apart from the requirements for silver or bronze driver, each driver has to complete the base time of three hours and 30 minutes, regardless of driver rating.

Vilander failed to complete the adjusted base time of 2 hours, 57 minutes and 38 seconds, thus dropping the Scuderia Corsa Ferrari back to 23rd position.
