After topping the morning session of Formula E's rookie test in Marrakesh, Nico Mueller's pace continued into the afternoon, with the Swiss racer setting a new lap record at the semi-permanent facility for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler.
Mueller, who drove for Audi at the same event last year, set a best time of a 1m 17.074s to secure the lap record at the 2.971km-long Circuit Automobile Moulay El Hassan, driving the team's 2018/19 challenger, the e-tron FE05.
James Rossiter, who drove both Andre Lotterer's #36 car and the #25 DS E-Tense FE19 belonging to Jean-Eric Vergne, was Mueller's nearest challenger, trailing the driver by 0.115s, setting his best time driving Lotterer's machine.
GEOX Dragon reserve driver Antonio Fuoco set the third fastest time of the day, posted in the afternoon session, splitting Rossiter's two times 0.264s off the pace.
McLaren junior Nyck de Vries ended the day in fifth fastest after testing for Envision Virgin Racing, edging ahead of Jann Mardenborough by 0.112s with the British driver ending the day in sixth for Nissan e.dams.
Driving for DS Techeetah after previously testing for the team in Ad Diriyah, Tatiana Calderon occupied seventh on the collective timesheets at the end of the day after only running in the morning session, with the Colombian racer holding the second-fastest time in the morning.
Bruno Spengler piloted BMW i Andretti Motorsport's i FE.19 to eighth on the timesheets and was followed by Raffaele Marciello who tested for HWA Racelab in ninth, with the driver edging ahead of the Venturi works team, with Arthur Leclerc and Norman Nato, who broke down in the morning session, occupying 10th and 11th for the Monegasque squad.
Former Williams Formula 1 driver Sergey Sirotkin was 12th fastest, driving Jerome d'Ambrosio's race-winning Mahindra M5Electro while the Indian marque's reserve driver, Sam Dejonghe, followed in 13th.
Mitsunori Takaboshi was 14th in the second Nissan e.dams car while Jamie Green was 15th, crashing Lucas di Grassi's Audi in the dying moments of the afternoon session, clattering the barrier in Turn 7.
Pietro Fittipaldi was the fastest Jaguar driver, setting the 16th fastest time while Harry Ticnknell was 18th, the pair being separated by Daniel Juncadella in the second HWA.
Triple DTM champion Marco Wittmann was 19th fastest, followed by Jake Hughes who tested for NIO in what was a last-minute call-up for the Oxford-based Chinese startup.
Benoit Treluyer was 21st for Envision Virgin while Jamie Chadwick rounded out time timesheets, driving the second NIO 004 after being granted an additional testing opportunity in Marrakesh after having little running in Ad Diriyah.
Felipe Nasr, who was set to test for GEOX Dragon, did not take to the track at any point during the day, with a contractual issue preventing the Brazilian racer from testing all-electric machinery.
The Marrakesh rookie test marked the second of three scheduled in-season test sessions during the 2018/19 campaign, with the next test scheduled to take place after February's Mexico City E-Prix.
