MP Motorsport's Ralph Boschung has received a five-place grid penalty for the feature race in Russia for his role in the clash between himself and Prema's Sean Gelael on the second lap of the sprint race in Monza.
The Swiss driver had started the race on pole position, inheriting the place after Charouz's Antonio Fuoco was disqualified from Saturday's feature race on technical grounds.
As the lights went out to start the race, Boschung had made a poor getaway and was quickly swallowed up by the chasing pack and quickly fell back into the field.
Whilst trying to arrest his descent down the grid, he collided with Gelael at the Della Roggia chicane who was on the racing line, pitching the Prema across the runoff area on the outside of the circuit.
Boschung was adjudged by the stewards to have moved to the right under braking for turn 4, making contact with the Indonesian driver which resulted in the retirement of both cars
Formula 2 will return on September 28-30 in Sochi, Russia.
