Sebastian Vettel prangs 2018 Ferrari F1 car during Milan run

Ahead of this weekend's Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel suffered an embarrassing accident at Formula 1's latest 'F1 Live' event in Milan, crashing his SF71H during a live demonstration after sharing driving duties with team-mate Kimi Raikkonen.

Suffering from understeer in a low-speed left-hand corner, Vettel clattered the barriers with his current-spec Ferrari machine, breaking the car's front wing before reversing out of the wall and continuing down the designated route, rejoining his mechanics in a temporary pit structure.

After winning the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend with a clinical driving performance to dominate the 44-lap race, Vettel heads to the final European race of the 2018 season as F1's most recent winner having reduced Lewis Hamilton's lead at the top of the Drivers' Championship to 17 points.

F1 Live in Milan marks the second event of this nature in 2018, with the last event building up the return of the French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard Circuit, with the race making its calendar comeback in June.

Sauber's Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson were also in attendance and were joined by the Toro Rosso pair of Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley while thousands of fans lined the streets in preparation for Ferrari's home race.
