Cal Crutchlow topped the times for the third practice session ahead of Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone, as riders struggled to improve on their Friday times thanks to the colder track conditions on Saturday morning.
A 2:01.866 for the LCR Honda home favourite saw Crutchlow grab the top spot from Danilo Petrucci by just 0.027. Petrucci was one of only two riders inside the top ten to improve on FP2 their time, meaning Andrea Dovizioso sits top with qualifying on the horizon.
Petrucci's lap put him into the top ten at the expense of Alvaro Bautista to secure an automatic Q2 spot, with team-mate Jack Miller third on Saturday morning and sixth overall.
Tech 3's Johann Zarco made it an all-independent top four in FP3, 0.210s back from Crutchlow, with Yamaha's Maverick Viñales rounding out the top five as he and team-mate Valentino Rossi set identical times – 0.222s from the top.
Bautista crashed late in the session at Turn 12 when pushing to get himself back into the top ten, with Takaaki Nakagami also going down at Turn 12, before crashing again at T14.
